Twenty14 Gallery, for Milan Design Week 2015, presents “Monotype, seven possible chairs.” A research by seven designers born from the collective need to elaborate one of the most complex furnishings in the design world: chair. An archetype that today seems to require the ability to overcome existing models starting from its limitations and at the same time from its specificities.
Each designer elaborated a possible chair starting from its primary structural element: a ‘metal core reduced to the minimum. On this typical structure, each of them designed a formal wooden element, transforming the chair into an object of research and experimentation, where the reworking of existing models generated the birth of unprecedented pieces.
