AZIMUT / COMPETITION
Place: Cannes
Year: 2015
Project team: Davide Fabio Colaci and Lula Ferrari with Riccardo Ferrari, Chiara Lionello, Margherita Sanfelici

The competition was for the Azimuth Yachts stand at the nautical fair in Cannes. The proposal, made in collaboration with Lula Ferrari’s office won second prize. The project investigates the idea of the “salotto italiano” or “Italian living room”, articulating the space in a central and convivial environment. The exhibition space is divided by fabric curtains into a series of thematic rooms, each one characterised by different sophisticated textures and precious materials. The Italian living room’s amaranth curtain opens up, transforming the interior into a terrace overlooking the sea and revealing guests to the company’s prestigious nautical collection. The brand’s recognition is further enhanced by an air balloon suspended in the air which, like a red sun above the Azimuth spaces, identifies and leads to the exhibition space.
